Basaveshwara Nagar resident’s quest for a clean road

November 20, 2014 By Nupur Sachdev

“There was a very ugly sight on our usually picturesque road”, said Dr H R Anuradha as she described the mess of mud, stone and debris that was found around a manhole on her road. “We were out of town for a while, and when we came back we were shocked to see bricks and debris dumped on the side of our house,” she says.

A resident of Kirloskar Colony in Basaveshwara Nagar, she had been trying to resolve the issue for months. Then she came across IChangeMyCity and posted a complaint on the website. A prompt reply from the BBMP informed her that BBMP Officer Shante Gowda had been assigned to look into the complaint. However, before she could pursue the matter with him, the debris had been cleared and the matter was resolved. “They came within two days after I posted the complaint and did a fabulous job”, she said.

The retired professor of Mathematics is keen to bring more developments on the road, and is looking forward to make use of the platform, IChangeMyCity again. “After my road is perfect I would like to start on the road next to this and make it perfect too,” says this active citizen.

Quite pleased with the fast action that was taken by the authorities, Dr Anuradha says “I thank IChangeMyCity for making things much easier for common citizens like us.”
