For a cleaner and healthier Kudlu

Many of us may have heard the quote “Don't talk, just act. Don't say, just show. Don't promise, just prove.”
However, we see this quote come to life through Jaganmohan Kanakala, who has been pivotal in resolving two problems in his residential area – Kudlu in Singasandra ward.
Sewage pipe leak
In VGP layout in Kudlu, a broken sewage pipe was the main trouble for the residents. The sewage leaked from the manhole, making the entire area dirty. The water used to flow on to the road and the pedestrians were left with no option but to walk over it.
Though there was constant cribbing from the residents about the problems in the area, there was a lack of initiative in taking up responsibility.
Jaganmohan Kanakala who wanted to resolve the issue, came to know about I Change My City, from a colleague and decided to post a complaint on the portal.
The complaint was immediately forwarded to the BWSSB and the problem was solved soon after.
Chicken waste dump
Meat vendors in Kudlu used to dump chicken waste such as feathers and other inedible commercial trash on the village main road.
The area was once almost inhabitable thanks to the stench emanating from the rotting waste.
Earlier, feathers and other debris used to enter the houses nearby on windy days, making the entire stretch messy. This forced the residents to keep their windows closed.
Jaganmohan Kanakala was sure that the problem will be resolved if he posted it on I Change My City.
Sure enough, a few days later, he received a call from the BBMP, which assured to solve the issue at the earliest. The area was thoroughly cleaned and the feathers were burned. Now, the area is being cleaned on every alternate day. Ultimately, the meat vendors stopped dumping waste and today, Kudlu village is clean.
“Both the problems, made the entire area unhygienic and I feared a disease outbreak, if the problems prolonged. Making my neighborhood clean and healthy was all that I wanted, and I am happy that my efforts have yielded positive change,” says Jaganmohan to I Change My City.
