5 sustainable resolutions to follow on Earth Day

April 22, 2020
  • Plastic is estimated to occupy 20% of the 4000 tonne of municipal solid waste generated in Bengaluru. It’s time we say ‘No’ to single-use-plastic.

  • According to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) every second, textiles equalling one garbage truck load end up in a landfill or are burned. Let's shop keeping sustainability in mind.

  • If Bengalureans continue relying on private modes of transport, it may lead to an increase in particulate matter pollution by more than 70% by 2030. Using public transport is the best solution.

  • Effective segregation of wastes means that less waste goes to landfill which makes it cheaper and better for people and the environment.

  • Volunteering helps us make new friends, improves our self-esteem, helps us advance in our career and also motivates us to stay fit. Let's volunteer and make a difference.

The COVID-19 lockdown may have affected our daily routine. However, it has given our planet an opportunity to heal.
