Freeze mob motivates Mumbaikars to vote in upcoming BMC elections

“I was shocked when my colleagues suddenly froze. I was wondering what happened. Then suddenly they took out placards displaying messages about the importance of voting in the upcoming elections. It made me stop, think and realize my responsibilities,” says Bhavisha an employee of Edelweiss.
A freeze mob conducted by EdelGive (Edelweiss CSR) and Team IChangeMyCity, motivated Mumbaikars to vote in the BMC elections to be held on February 21st.
The unique campaign, ‘Get Inked’, kicked off in the city on February 14 with employees of Edelweiss standing still with placards carrying messages that motivate people to cast their vote.
With an aim to make its employees understand the meaning of good governance, Edelweiss collaborated with Team IChangeMyCity and a kiosk was set up in the campus to impart information with regard to the upcoming elections.
The employees were made to understand the importance of civic elections and also helped to find out their ward, constituency and contesting candidates. They were helped out with their voter registrations as well as queries regarding the election process were answered.
Akash Puri, Outreach Associate of IChangeMyCity who was a part in organizing the event reveals that the employees of Edelweiss were enthusiastic and their response to the Get Inked Campaign was fantastic.
“During my interactions with the employees, I found that most of them have migrated from other states and have voter ID cards from their respective cities. Many were not aware that they can register as a voter in the place of their new residence. When we told them that it is possible, they were keen to know the process to register as voters in Mumbai,” adds Akash.
“The people have the right to choose their hero, who will make their city better. Hence, it is very important to vote in the elections and select a good corporator. Get Inked campaign aimed to create awareness and get as many people as possible to vote in the BMC elections to be held on February 21,” says Priti, who works as a CSR Executive for EdelGive.
Get Inked was a huge success with over 400 people registering in the 4 day campaign.
