Ganesh Chatuthri celebrated in Odisha.

September 11, 2014
Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated with religious fervour and traditional enthusiasm in State capital. Various educational institutions, cultural and social organisations organized Puja at different places of the city where rituals were carried out with vedic mantras, homa, archana and offerings of Lord’s favourite laddoos according to each one’s mode of worship. In a bid to celebrate the festival in the best way possible, pandals of different puja committees including Unit-4, Master Canteen Square, Bhouma Nagar, Bapuji Nagar, Badagada, etc, were well decorated with glittering lights on this auspicious occasion. People installed idols of Lord Ganesh in their homes as it is believed that worshipping Lord Ganesh during the festival will bring good luck and prosperity to the family. Some also wind up the worship in a day or two while others carry it on for a week.
