I Change My City

Crawling through Silk Board Junction?

Let's change that.

Silk Board Junction

I commute through the Silk Board Junction to reach Electronics City from Koramangala every day during the peak hours. Every morning and evening, vehicles are stuck in the slow moving traffic or a grid lock, at the Junction.

The Silk Board junction is one of the major roads with a high density of traffic flow as it connects Bangalore South to Outer Ring Road, Marathahalli and Whitefield and also Electronic City on Hosur Road. Heavy vehicular movement caused by traffic coming from four directions, Koramanagala, BTM, Electornics City, Marathahalli, converging on the junction at peak hours and indisciplined lane driving, makes the road one of the most chaotic in the city.

Active citizens along with civic authorities have tried their best to ease the problem. Last year, the Silk Board bus stop was shifted at least 200 feet in the direction of HSR Layout to ease traffic congestion. The bus stop earlier was close to the signal hampering the flow of traffic. In spite of this initiative, the chaos still persists.

I am sure a solution can be found, which may involve the BTP, BMTC, KSRTC, BBMP and users of the road to join in for the effort for the same. We can make an effort by initiating the change here.

If you are also affected, please do vote up and share your thoughts on possible solutions. The higher the number of vote ups, the faster the issue gets resolved.
